Trip to Burma

For the turn of the millenium (I'm talking New Years 1999), I was in Burma, on a short term missions trip. We were over there for 3 weeks visiting the Kachin people. We went with Matthew, who is from there, and was at the time going to school at Bethel Seminary, Minnesota. We brought instruments and did concerts and taught on worship music, leading choirs etc. I played guitar. It was a great trip, and going was a blessing for me. Our luggage got lost on the way, so for nine days we wore the clothes we had in our carry-ons. Some of us had a wider assortment than others...

We went to Myitkyina, which is where Matthew is from, for a big 2000 Christian celebration they were having there. I forget how many people they estimated were there...I think it was around 60,000. We also went to Mandalay, Lashio, and Rangoon. It was a great trip!
